With our foundation, we have recently started a CO2 compensation project. Our foundation supports charities such as “Trees for all” and “Stand for Trees”. Our goal is to plant a minimum of 5000 trees in order to create a new park/food forest in the Netherlands.

You can contribute to the realization of this new park/food forest.

  • For each scan we donate a tree or make a contribution to the forest
  • All our partners donate extra trees when improving your sustainability
  • You and your company can also compensate for your CO2 emissions by planting trees.

Together with a great team at Wageningen University (WUR) we designed the first concept for the food forest: Ivar Boerma – Maud Canisius – Nora Kooijmans – Jelmer Boersma
Every business has a CO2 footprint. This should be brought into balance.
Why a food forest? By planting the trees further apart more light can reach the ground.
Because more light reaches the ground, a variety of plants can grow here

This is why, on the same surface, we get about 1.5 times more leaf growth, 1.5 times more CO2 absorption, and there is food production and income flow.
Due to this combination of factors, the land is used more efficiently.

This functions as a system. Nature knows best how to manage everything; all we can do is help it get started. If we do less, this reduces CO2 emissions. Together with organizations that help people get jobs we can organize activities such as the harvest.
This is why we are making a food forest.
Our goal now is to plant trees and compensate for CO2 emissions. However, we also want people to be able to enjoy this space – that is why we want to turn it into a park.
This unites the 3 Ps  (People, Profit And Planet).
We cannot construct this park alone – we do this with a community. The MSB platform is such a community. Together, we can accomplish much more.
Working together to create… Together with our clients, partners and sponsors we will first plant all vegetation.
Hereafter, we create an experience for people.
The idea is to create several paths through the production forests. A portion of the production is not accessible to public because we need the proceeds for the maintenance of the park.
We will create different routes. One for sports, another for education, and a contemplative route. This unites body, soul and mind.
People will connect with each other and with nature
What will grow where? Of course, we start completely bare. If we would plant full-grown plants and trees, we would be able to enjoy these immediately, however it would imply not adding anything to the planet. We would only move existing plants and trees (which adds CO2 emissions). That is why we will sow new vegetation, and have patience until it is all full-grown.
Here, you can see some examples
Cherry
Walnut trees
Elderberries and strawberries.
Young and old together. The next step is for our partners and specialists to design the right ratios.
In the park we will create some open spaces where people can get together. What follows are some possibilities.
A square by the entrance, where a bronze tree mentions all the partners that have cooperated to create the food forest/park.
A zen meditation garden where people can unwind or where trainings can be organized.
An open-air theater where companies and institutions can give presentations or where performances can be put on stage.
An Earth office where people can have a cup of coffee, buy products from the park, have meetings or book a conference room. An Earth office is a fully self-sufficient building made largely from waste.

What can you do to help? Start with our Start Scan. This benefits both yourself and your company, as well as our charities. Invest in trees or square meters in this park. Become sponsor of our platform.

Help us help others. Our joint efforts will be much bigger than the sum of our parts.

Individually we are one drop,
together we are an Ocean
